About Treze do Sete

Treze do Sete is a rock news curation by someone who actually listens to rock. Every day (or close to it), a post covering what's happening in the rock world — with opinion, no sugarcoating, and no filler.

What is this?

A blog. A filter. A way to keep up with the rock world without checking 30 sites a day.

We read Pitchfork, NME, Rolling Stone, Loudwire, and about 40 other RSS feeds. Pick what matters. Write with an opinion. Publish. No corporate filter, no ratings to protect.

Why "Treze do Sete"?

Treze do Sete is Portuguese for "Thirteen of the Seventh" — an old-fashioned, written-out way of saying July 13th. Brazilians sometimes write dates like that, spelling out the numbers instead of using digits. It sounds a bit like something your grandfather would say, which is fitting for a rock blog.

Two reasons, and they both carry equal weight.

First: July 13, 1985 was Live Aid — one of the greatest events in rock history, a date that stopped the world and proved that music can be bigger than any stadium.

Second: July 13, 1979 is my birthday. I was born on that date. So the day this project is named after is both a historic rock milestone and the day I showed up in the world to, eventually, talk about rock on the internet.

Coincidence? Maybe. Destiny? Definitely not. But it fit too well to ignore.
